Karen
Retail & Administration Ranger
Karen has been employed by SRT as a Ranger since Autumn 2023 and currently works two days a week performing a variety of administrative duties and occasionally providing cake! Karen met Sue when she gave a talk at the Rockpool at Gwithian, and then started volunteering as a data entry in June 2019. She now runs the Wild Seal Supporter and Adoption Scheme.
Karen previously worked in Histopathology laboratory as a cervical cytology screener for 14 years and then went to University at the age of 40, gaining a Biomedical Science degree and working as a Biomedical Scientist for a further 15 years until retirement.
Karen also volunteers for the RSPB with her husband. They carry out habitat maintenance at Hayle Estuary and Marazion Marsh. They love bird watching and visiting nature reserves while on holiday.
She also has an allotment, she knits and sews for charities, loves gardening, jigsaws, her family and our dogs!
