Get involved

We love working as a Seal Team with people of all ages, backgrounds, knowledge, skills and life experiences joined by a shared interest in seals. We ALL have something to offer seal conservation efforts and YOU can help in lots of different ways:

Report a seal sighting by emailing us with the date, location and number of seals on land or in the sea to sightings@sealresearchtrust.com

Get information and updates about seals:

Support seal campaigns:

  • Sign the Seal Alliance Flying Rings Petition

  • Pick up marine debris (especially looped items) from around our coastline

  • Aim to Give Seals Space by staying 100m away from them wherever possible and by kindly reminding others to do the same

  • Use plant based cleaners and scourers at home as well as microplastic trap bags when washing plastic clothing

  • Do regular surveys at your local seal site

  • Volunteer for any aspect of our SRT seal research from surveying, to data processing, analysis, presentation and even report writing. Find out more by taking part in our free online volunteer training.

  • Attend one of our online courses run by our Director Sue Sayer MBE for the Field Studies Council:
    ~ Discovering UK Seals

~ Seal Field Skills to Inform Conservation

  • Watch our talks and videos on our YouTube Channel

  • Buy gifts and treats from our One Stop Online Sealy Shop to support seal conservation and help a local maker to earn a living

  • Distribute SRT’s free signs, posters, leaflets and stickers on your patch

  • Join our Wild Seal Supporter and Adoption Scheme for a one off payment or from as little as £3.50 a month

  • Attend events run by SRT and our wonderful partner organisations that we advertise on our social media

Why not help to fundraise for us by:

  • Organising your own event from a cake stall to a cycle ride

  • Bid on items in our online auctions or Donate money for seal conservation

  • Share any unwanted preloved items for us to raffle or auction

  • We always reuse packaging when sending out items, so please keep yours for us
